A delegation from the Jiangsu Provincial Sericulture Research Institute went to Xuzhou to investigate the sericulture industry
From November 8th to 10th, Researcher Zhou Chengwei, position expert of the Sericulture Innovation Team of Jiangsu Province’s Special Grain and Special Economic System, deputy director of the Jiangsu Province Sericulture Research Institute, position scientist of the National Sericulture Industry Technology System, and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Researcher Zhao Weiguo and Researcher Qian Heying from the Institute of Sericulture Research and their delegation went to Xuzhou to investigate sericulture, sericulture production and the diversified development and utilization of sericulture resources.
In Suining County, the research team visited Guangyuan Sericulture Cooperative, Dingya Land Cooperative, and Songlou Village Standard Silkworm Cooperative in Taoyuan Town, and carefully inquired about this year’s sericulture production, comprehensive utilization of mulberry leaves, etc., and In view of the high incidence of mulberry disease in local mulberry orchards this year, professional guidance was put forward to strengthen mulberry garden management, timely application of additional drugs, and strengthen pruning and treatment of diseased branches to prevent the continued occurrence and expansion of mulberry disease next year. At the Sericulture Industrial Park in Taoyuan Town, the research team visited the local sericulture industrial cluster and sericulture cultural center, and inquired in detail about product output, production technology, product sales and audience groups. Taoyuan Town has now formed a full industrial chain from mulberry planting and sericulture to silk reeling and weaving and the comprehensive development and utilization of sericulture products. The developed mulberry leaf tea, mulberry wine, dried mulberry fruit, mulberry leaf noodles and other products have enriched the connotation of the sericulture industry. It has increased industrial efficiency, raised people’s income, achieved good development results, and embarked on a path of connotative development and rural revitalization with Taoyuan characteristics.
In Tongshan District, the research team investigated the production and operation conditions of Jiamei Family Farm, Tangzhang Town Jieyou Hometown Sericulture Base, Tieying Shengshu Agricultural Products Processing Co., Ltd., Xiahu Mulberry Orchard and other sericulture industrial bases. Relevant suggestions were given on the construction of silkworm houses, the selection and cultivation of mulberry varieties, the inheritance and protection of sericulture culture, and the production of sericulture food. The research team spoke highly of local enterprises for choosing sericulture, strengthening sericulture, and promoting traditional sericulture culture. They hope that local enterprises will strengthen exploration, strengthen cooperation with relevant scientific research institutions, enrich product types, actively seek policy support, and further promote industrial development.
