Pan Zhixin, deputy director of Guangxi Sericulture Technology Promotion Station, introduced the production situation of silkworm seeds and cocoons in the region. Among them, the area of mulberry orchards in the district is about 2.9 million acres, and the key production areas have increased or decreased. Hechi City has increased by about 5,000 acres, and Baise City has increased by 29,000 acres. The number of seeds issued is steadily increasing, but it is largely affected by external factors such as drought. In April, 1.6 million seeds were issued, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%. It is expected to be launched in June. If the weather goes well, 65,000 tons of cocoons are expected to be produced. The overall sericulture production increased steadily in the first half of the year, but due to the influence of cultivated land indicators and other factors, it is difficult to continue to increase. Webmaster Pan also said that the cost of raising silkworms for farmers is relatively high now, and the price should not be lower than 40 yuan per kilogram. Fresh cocoons of 50 to 54 yuan should be the current normal price.
Chairman Han Yifei of Guangxi Pingguo County Huimin Sericulture Technology Co., Ltd. introduced Pingguo City’s experience in sericulture production and base construction. Director Han reported on the purchase of the first batch of silkworm cocoons in Pingguo County. The average price was about 60 yuan/kg, which was on the high side, and the cost of silk was seriously inverted. At the same time, due to drought, the first batch of silkworm cocoons produced 20% less than in previous years. Pingguo City currently has a sericulture area of 80,000 acres. The first batch of 10,000 silkworm seeds was released, producing 400,000 kilograms of fresh cocoons. The cocoonsquality is good, and 50% can produce 5A grade raw silk. Due to the good results of sericulture, the masses (sericulture farmers) have increased the area of mulberry gardens by about 10,000 acres this year, which has achieved outstanding results in Guangxi.
Guangxi market introduces recent relevant situations.
Mo Zhongxing, general manager of the Xiangyun yarn processing workshop in Shanglin County, Guangxi, introduced the recent production and sales of Xiangyun yarn. Among them, affected by the late stage of the epidemic, the sales and prosperity of Xiangyun yarn were not as good as in the early stage.

Director Yang Fugang, director of the Textile and Medicine Division of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Industry and Information Technology Department and the Guangxi Autonomous Region Cocoon and Silk Office, delivered an important speech. Among them, the output value of the cocoon and silk industry is approximately 9.5 billion yuan, accounting for 35% of the total output value of the entire textile industry; in 2022, the region’s silk industry will produce 16,000 tons of raw silk. A year-on-year increase of 10%; the output of gray silk was 19.82 million meters, a year-on-year increase of 6.16%, a record high.
In the first quarter of 2023, the region’s cumulative raw silk production was 2,892.54 tons, an increase of 0.18% over the same period last year; the cumulative gray silk production was 4.7877 million meters, an increase of 7.66% over the same period last year; the total raw silk production was basically the same. The output of gray silk increased slightly.
In April 2022, the price of cocoon silk across the country was stable. The price of raw silk in Guangxi was 430,000-440,000 yuan/ton, and the purchasing price of fresh cocoons in the main production area Yizhou and other places was 58-60 yuan/kg. The cost of raw cocoons is relatively high, and there are The phenomenon of inverted cocoon silk cost has been eliminated.
The current inventory destocking in Guangxi is not ideal, and slow payment collections have resulted in insufficient liquidity for enterprises. May is about to usher in the peak acquisition season, and enterprises are under great cash pressure. The current “financing difficulty” problem existing in the industry, I hope everyone can work together to discuss solutions. .
