Taiwan’s textile and garment exports total US$1 billion
Exports: Taiwan’s textile and garment exports amounted to US$832 million in December 2018, down 3.4% from US$861 million in December 2017; Taiwan’s textile and garment exports from January to December 2018 amounted to US$10.08 billion, down from the same period the previous year US$10.078 billion, a slight increase of 0.02%.
Imports: In December 2018, Taiwan’s textile and garment imports amounted to US$317 million, an increase of 4.6% from US$303 million in December 2017; from January to December 2018, Taiwan’s textile and garment imports amounted to US$3.679 billion, an increase of 4.6% from US$303 million in December 2017. Trade surplus: Taiwan’s trade surplus for textile and garment products (= export amount – import amount) in December 2018 was US$515 million, a decrease of 7.7% from US$558 million in December 2017; Taiwan’s trade surplus from January to December 2018 The textile and garment trade surplus was US$6.401 billion, a decrease of 4.6% from US$6.711 billion in the same period of the previous year.
