The Textile Chamber of Commerce held a coordination meeting to respond to India’s anti-dumping sunset review investigation on linen yarn with less than 70 threads involving China
On March 31, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued Resolution No. 7/03/2023-DGTR. Upon the application of M/s Grasim Industries Limited (Jaya Shree Textiles) and Sintex Industries Ltd., it decided to color=”#FF8040″>Importsof linen yarn below 70 threads (equivalent to 42 threads) from China have initiated an anti-dumping sunset review investigation. The scope of the products involved is consistent with the original case on September 18, 2018. The tax numbers involved are 53061090 and 53062090. The dumping investigation period is from October 2021 to September 2022; the damage investigation period is from 2019 to 2022 and the entire dumping investigation period. According to GTF Indian customs data, India imported US$62.58 million of products involved in the case from China in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 32%; India imported US$47.49 million in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 123%. The companies involved are mainly concentrated in Zhejiang, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Anhui and other provinces.
In order to help our company actively respond to the lawsuit and strive for favorable results, the China Chamber of Commerce for ImportExport held an online response meeting on the afternoon of April 14, 2023. Dai Weiwei, Director of the Export Division Three of the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, leaders of the Commerce Departments of Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang Provinces, the Commerce Bureaus of Jiamusi City, Suihua City, and Wuxing District, and the companies involved in the case attended the meeting.
The meeting introduced the situation of this case and India’s domestic trade remedy investigation. The company introduced the export situation since the original taxation of this case five years ago. Finally, the lawyer introduced and analyzed the response to this case from the legal and technical aspects.
