Insufficient demand from China causes Pakistan cotton yarn export prices to fall
In the past week, cotton prices in Pakistan increased, but yarn demand was weak and yarn prices did not change. Cotton yarn export prices fell due to lack of demand from China.
Recently, cotton prices in Pakistan have begun to rise due to the expected reduction in cotton supply and strong procurement demand from cotton mills. Forecasts show that Pakistan’s cotton output this year will be 10.2 million bales (170 kg/bag), with a gap between supply and demand of 3.5 million bales. Spot prices in Karachi increased by 1.71% in a single week.
Due to the stable prices of raw materials, the prices of polyester-cotton yarn and polyester-viscose yarn have not changed. In the past three weeks, the price of polyester staple fiber has been stable at 187 rupees/kg. After the RMB exchange rate rose, The price of imported polyester staple fiber is 90 rupees/kg. The profits of Pakistani chemical fiber manufacturers reached a new high due to the decline in international raw material prices, but the price of chemical fiber yarns fell along with the raw materials.
