Peru terminates temporary anti-dumping duties on Chinese polyester-cotton blended fabrics
On September 21, 2021, the Commission on Dumping, Subsidization and Elimination of Non-tariff Trade Barriers of the National Institute for Competition and Intellectual Property Protection of Peru was published in the official daily newspaper “El Peruano” Announcement No. 244-2021/CDB-INDECOPI terminates the temporary anti-dumping duties on polyester-cotton blended fabrics originating in China from September 23, 2021. The products involved are made of polyester-cotton short fiber (polyester weight accounts for more than 50%), the width does not exceed 1.80 meters, and the unit weight is between 80 grams/square meter and 130 grams/square meter. On October 14, 2020, Peru launched an anti-dumping investigation into polyester-cotton blended fabrics originating in China. On May 21, 2021, Peru made a preliminary anti-dumping ruling on the products involved in the case originating in China and decided to impose a temporary anti-dumping tax of US$2.08/kg on the products involved. It will take effect from the day after the announcement is made and will be valid for 4 months. The case involves products under Peruvian tax numbers 5512.11.00.00, 5512.19.00.00, 5513.11.00.00, and 5513.21.00.00.
