Flame-retardant work clothes are actually what we usually call welding protective clothing. Flame-retardant work clothes are divided into permanent flame-retardant work clothes and durable flame-retardant work clothes. The fabric of permanent flame-retardant work clothes refers to yarn or silk that already has flame-retardant properties and high washability. In contrast, post-processed flame-retardant work clothes refer to clothing fabrics that do not have flame-retardant properties in nature. The yarns or silks are post-processed after being woven into fabrics. Post-processed flame-retardant fabrics are relatively less resistant to washing. So what are the fabrics of permanent flame retardant clothing?
Commonly used fibers and their characteristics for permanent flame retardant clothing:
(1)Nomex fiber: heat-resistant and flame-retardant fiber (scientific name: meta-aromatic polyamide fiber, domestically known as aramid 1313 fiber);
Nomex fiber features:
1. Heat-resistant and permanently flame-retardant fiber, with high strength, high wear resistance, low shrinkage, It has the characteristics of stable chemical structure, resistance to corrosion by acids, alkalis and organic chemicals;
2. Good dimensional stability, it can heat shrink under long-term use at 250℃ The rate is only 1%, it does not melt when exposed to fire, has no droplets, and does not produce toxic gases;
3. It does not start to decompose until it exceeds 400°C. The surface is thickened and can insulate heat transfer without cracking at temperatures of 900℃-1500℃. Flame-retardant work clothes made of Nomex fiber are lightweight, elastic, breathable, soft and comfortable to wear;
4. Due to the outstanding performance of the cloth itself, It is not a printing and dyeing auxiliary, so it can be washed at will, and its function remains unchanged;
5. Kevlar bulletproof fiber is added to the fiber to increase the breaking strength and resistance of the cloth. Tear strength. Nylon with a carbon fiber core is added to the fiber to make the cloth have permanent anti-static function;
6. After Nomex is oil- and water-repellent finished, The cloth has the advantages of being oil- and water-repellent and easy to remove dirt.
(2) Kevlar fiber: high-density, low-elongation bulletproof fiber (scientific name: para-aramid fiber, domestically known as aramid 1414 fiber);
Kevlar fiber characteristics:
1. Kevlar has very good Thermal stability, fire resistance, chemical resistance, insulation, as well as high strength and modulus. Compare the physical properties of Kevlar with other fibers. Kevlar fiber is 2 to 11 times stronger than asbestos and is stronger than high-strength graphite. 1.6 times the strength, which is 3 times the strength of glass fiber and 5 times the strength of steel fiber under the same weight. And the density of Kevlar is very low, almost only half of the density of asbestos;
2. Thermal stability, Kevlar is very stable in the thermal test (TGA) until There is no obvious weight loss until 600℃;
3. Low corrosiveness, high-content Kevlar test piece, showing lower corrosion than semi-metal piece Properties;
4. Wear resistance. Compared with asbestos fiber, Kevlar fiber can show very low wear resistance when in good condition.
Therefore, flame-retardant work clothes made of the above fabrics are widely used in petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, electric power and other industries, and are especially popular with the labor protection departments of foreign-funded enterprises. favor.
