1. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film lamination
Laminated fabrics have good water-repellent and oil-repellent properties, are washable, and can withstand high water pressure, but require specialized laminating equipment, resulting in a large one-time investment and high cost. The better PTFE films abroad mainly include the Gore-Tex film of the American Gore Company and the Sympatex film of the Dutch AKZO Company; in China, there are mainly films developed by the General Logistics Military Equipment Research Institute.
2. Fluorocarbon padding method
At present, it is common on the market The main fluorocarbons include zepe1588 and Telfon from DuPont in the United States, Oleo-phobol series from Huntsman, AG480 and AG710 from Asahi Glass in Japan, TG410 and TG527 from Daikin, EC50 from Nikka, etc. Although the properties of various fluorocarbons are different, the finishing process is generally the same. The following rolling and baking process is generally used: padding fabric (padding rate 70% ~ 80%) – pre-baking (80-100℃. 5-10arin)_ -‘Baking (150~170℃, 2~3min), adjust the pH value of the finishing solution to 3~7 with glacial acetic acid.
3. Coating finishing
Coating is a water-repellent and waterproof finishing common means. At present, fabric coating finishing agents mainly include polyacrylate, polyurethane, silicone elastomer and polyvinyl chloride resin, among which water-soluble polyurethane coating glue is widely used. Coatings can significantly increase a fabric’s resistance to hydrostatic pressure. But it often affects moisture permeability and feel. In order to obtain better finishing effects, the process of combining padding finishing and coating finishing can be used.
The oil-resistant and water-repellent fabric produced by City Textile is mainly finished by padding method, which can achieve American standard AAEGRTHRHTCC22 and AATCC118.
