Hebei: Cotton has entered its peak blooming period and is growing faster than the same period last year
In late July, various regional monitoring stations in Hebei Province of the National Cotton Market Monitoring System conducted surveys on cotton growth conditions in various regions. The specific situation is as follows:
Hengshui: Since June, there has been sufficient rainfall in Hengshui, Hebei, which is conducive to cotton growth. Up to now, when the cotton plant height is 100-120 cm, there are about 14 buds, 7-9 fruit branches, and an average of 2-3 flowers.
It is understood that this is a critical period for the formation of cotton peach, and cotton farmland management is particularly important. A local cotton farmer said that the cotton topping work has ended and the current main work is to spray pesticides to control the occurrence and spread of pests and diseases. At present, the main pests and diseases are blind bugs. If there is no bad weather in the later period, the output this year is expected to be higher than last year.
Tangshan: Last week (July 18-24), the Tangshan area of Hebei Province had mainly sunny and good weather, which was conducive to cotton growth. So far, the local cotton plants have entered the peak boll stage, with an average of 4-5 bolls per plant. Cotton farmers conduct timely management of cotton fields based on actual conditions to ensure normal growth of cotton. Due to more favorable weather this year and timely management of cotton fields, the overall cotton growth this year is better than the same period last year.
