India exports tons of cotton
According to data from the Indian Ministry of Commerce, India exported 177,276 tons of cotton in January 2017. From August 2016 to January 2017, India exported a total of 493,056 tons of cotton.
In January 2017, India imported 12,112 tons of cotton, including 8,897 tons of US cotton and 1,927 tons of Egyptian cotton. From August 2016 to January 2017, India imported a total of 337,846 tons of cotton, of which Australian cotton accounted for 41%, US cotton accounted for 19%, and West African cotton (Mali) accounted for 9%.
