Many countries along the “One Belt, One Road” have a tradition of growing mulberry and raising silkworms. In 2013, as China proposed the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, exchanges and cooperation between countries along the route and the domestic sericulture industry became more frequent and closer.
Taking Qingzhou, Shandong as an example, since 2013, local silkworm farmers have exported more than 2.9 million silkworm seeds and 15 million mulberry seedlings to countries along the “Belt and Road” .
