Science and technology boost the development of sericulture industry in Puge County, Sichuan Province
In order to implement the important arrangements of the Party Central Committee to consolidate and expand the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, and strengthen the support of science and technology and talent, the Organization Department of the Central Committee, together with the Ministry of Agriculture The Ministry of Rural Affairs and other departments coordinate the country’s agriculture-related scientific and technological talent resources and select scientific and technological missions to 160 key counties for assistance. On July 14, a special mission led by Professor Feng Zongyun of Sichuan Agricultural University went to Puge County to hold an on-site industrial training meeting. Li Tianyun, deputy head of the county government, accompanied him to attend the on-site training meeting on sericulture industry development.
The on-site training meeting on sericulture industry development was held at the Sericulture Technology Training Center of Hongjunshu Village Sericulture Industrial Park, Puge County. Secretary Zhang Youhong and Director Chen Yian of the Sichuan Agricultural Science Park Sericulture Research Institute, Zhang Jianhua, a researcher at the Provincial Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environmental Protection, Li Dongbing, a senior agriculturist at the Yibin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and other expert teachers used easy-to-understand language and vivid cases, combined with what farmers usually do. What I saw and heard systematically explained “the characteristic development of the sericulture industry in the context of rural revitalization”, “the development of the sericulture industry in the new erasituation analysis“, and “the artificial feed raising technology of small silkworms” , “Mulberry cultivation soil, fertilizer and water management technology” and other knowledge.
On July 15, the mission went to the homes of sericulture farmers Deng Yongqin and Zhou Wuchun in Lianhe Village, Huashan Town, Puge County, and had cordial exchanges with the farmers on issues such as co-breeding technology of small silkworms, rearing of large silkworms, and disinfection of silkworm houses.
Through the technical training, development situation and policy publicity of this science and technology mission, the majority of sericulture farmers have further mastered the new technologies of mulberry planting, management and sericulture, enhanced the confidence of sericulture farmers in developing sericulture, and contributed to the promotion of modern sericulture in the county. Development has laid a solid foundation.
