Northern Xinjiang: Machine-picked cotton is being harvested and put on the market, and cotton procurement has begun
Recently, machine-picked cotton in Northern Xinjiang has been picked and put on the market. Some companies in Manas, Wusu, Jinghe and other places have opened scales to purchase machine-picked cotton. The purchase price is about 5.3 yuan/kg (40% clothing cent), but the purchase quantity is not large. Since the current price is lower than the expectations of cotton farmers, some cotton farmers are not very enthusiastic about selling. In order to solve the problem of cotton farmers being unwilling to sell when the price is low, and companies not being willing to harvest when the price is high, some farmers negotiate with companies to purchase, inspect and weigh cotton first, and then determine the price later.
In addition, as the epidemic control in various parts of Xinjiang gradually returns to normal, various procurement and processing preparations have returned to normal, and the cotton procurement work in the new year has officially begun.
