There are many types of fabrics, and one of them, linen fabric, is widely used in life. So what is linen fabric and what are the advantages of linen fabric? The Guerlain designers will introduce it to you in detail below.

What are the advantages of linen fabric?

Flax is also called flax, flax, and can be divided into three categories: fiber fiber, oil, and fiber and oil. They are all annual herbaceous plants. Flax fiber exists in the phloem tissue of the flax stem. After retting and degumming, part of the gum is removed. The adhered fiber bundles are partially loosened, and then rolled and beaten into “beaten”, which is a technical fiber composed of 10 to 20 single fibers.

It has good hygroscopicity, quick moisture conduction and relatively thin diameter. It is one of the main fiber raw materials for summer clothes. Usually, the cloth woven from flax fiber is called flax fabric. After the fiber is harvested from flax, it is bundled into small handfuls for retting. To degumm the hemp, the temperature of the warm water retting should be controlled between 28 and 32°C. After about 100 hours, the hemp is taken out, the hemp stalks are built into an umbrella shape, and the hemp is dried in the open field.

Rain and dew retting is to lay the harvested hemp stems flat on the grass or flax ground, soak them in rain and dew, and use mold to ferment and retant them. Under suitable humidity conditions, after 7 to 10 days, the retting stems are broken into pieces. , the clothing company removes the xylem and impurities, combs the fibers, and then marks them according to quality. The short flax that is knocked out is called second coarse flax.

Advantages of linen.

Linen can be interwoven or blended with wool, polyester and other fibers to form unique, high-quality and affordable textile products. Because linen has good hygroscopicity and can absorb 20 times its own weight in water, linen fabrics feel dry.

Nowadays, the birth of anti-wrinkle, no-iron linen products and the emergence of blended products have further expanded the market of linen products. Internationally, linen is mostly woven on projectile looms and rapier looms.

Linen fabric applications.

Products include: delicate and elegant linen handkerchiefs, shirting materials, crepes, fancy yarn products, sportswear and linen and wool blended products.

Household products include: curtains, wall coverings, tablecloths, bedding, etc.

Industrial products include: canvas, luggage tents, insulation cloth, filter cloth and aviation products.

Linen can be interwoven or blended with wool, polyester and other fibers to form unique, high-quality and affordable textile products.

Flax fiber nonwoven composite materials: Flax fiber nonwovens can be produced through vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (RTM)/
Unsaturated polyester composite materials, because flax is relatively cheap and has a smaller density than all inorganic fibers, and its elastic modulus and tensile strength are similar to those of inorganic fibers. It can partially replace glass fibers as reinforcing materials in composite materials. Flax Compared with glass fiber and carbon fiber, the fiber is soft. By carrying out appropriate degumming treatment, selecting a reasonable carding process, and using acupuncture processing methods, non-woven reinforced fiber mats with a certain quantity and bulkiness that meet the requirements can be produced. At the same time, Fiber damage is small and the thickening effect is good. As a reinforcing material, linen fabric has the advantages of short production process, no need for weaving, and low processing cost. It is conducive to energy conservation and environmental protection.
