The promotion meeting for the high-quality development of the silkworm breeding industry in Shandong Province and the census of silkworm genetic resources was held
On February 21, the Shandong Province Silkworm Breed Industry HighQuality Development and Silkworm Genetic Resources Survey Promotion Meeting was held in Qingzhou City to summarize and exchange 2021-2022 The survey work on silkworm genetic resources in 2017 was reviewed and approved, and the “Shandong Province Silkworm Seed Production and Operation Licensing Measures” was reviewed and arranged for the next step of work. Yang Wujie, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Agricultural Technology Center, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Researcher Guo Guang, chief expert of the Provincial Sericulture Industry Innovation Team and director of the Provincial Sericulture Research Institute, and Professor Zhang Shengxiang, a post scientist of the National Sericulture Industry Innovation Team and Shandong Agricultural University, attended the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that the census of silkworm genetic resources is the basis for finding out the family background and laying the foundation for turning around the silkworm breeding industry. All participating units should attach great importance to it, and based on the good previous work, they should check for omissions, fill in the gaps, summarize and refine, and ensure high quality on time. Completed the compilation of “Shandong Province Silkworm Genetic Resources Chronicle”. The “Shandong Province Silkworm Breed Production and Operation Licensing Measures” is an important normative document that protects the development of the silkworm seed industry in Shandong Province. After approval, we must continue to do follow-up work and strive for early announcement and implementation to ensure the orderly development of the silkworm seed industry in accordance with regulations.
The meeting emphasized that Shandong Province’s silkworm seedexport orders this year have exceeded 400,000, achieving a “good start”, and the province’s agricultural technology extension system must continue to provide technical services , strengthen scientific and technological support, guide silkworm breeding enterprises in the province to continuously improve product quality and services, and promote the high-quality development of the silkworm breeding industry in the province and even the country.
The meeting also organized a visit to the export silkworm seed sorting and packaging line of Shandong Guangtong Silkworm Breed Co., Ltd. and the artificial feed cocoon breeding site.
Responsible comrades from the Weifang Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, Qingzhou Municipal People’s Government and agricultural and rural departments, various silkworm genetic resource census units, and key silkworm seed production and operation enterprises in the province participated.
