Türkiye finalizes safeguard measures against imported nylon yarn
On October 23, 2019, the WTO Safeguards Committee released the safeguard notification submitted to it by the Turkish delegation. On October 22, 2019, the Turkish investigative agency announced in its official gazette that it had made a final decision on safeguard measures against imported nylon (or other polyamide) yarns (YarnsMade of NylonorOtherPolyamides) and recommended that the products involved be implemented starting from November 21, 2019. Imposition of special tariffs for 3 years (see the table below for details of the measures). The Turkish tax numbers of the products involved are 5402.31, 5402.32.00.00.00, 5402.45, 5402.51, and 5402.61, including draft textured yarn (DTY), fully drafted yarn (FDY), partially oriented polyester yarn (POY) and nylon (or other Other yarns made of polyamide).
On December 30, 2018, Turkey launched a safeguard measure investigation into imported nylon (or other polyamide) yarn.
