Indonesia imposes temporary safeguard measures tax on imported curtains
On November 6, 2019, the WTO Safeguards Committee released the safeguard notification submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation on November 5, 2019. The Indonesian Safeguards Committee made a preliminary ruling on safeguard measures on imported curtains (including curtains), blinds, bed curtains and other decorative fabrics (Curtains (IncludingDrapes), Interior Blinds, Bed Valances, and Other Furnishing Articles) and recommended that the products involved A temporary safeguard measure tax of IDR 41,083/kg is levied and is valid for 200 days. The Indonesian tax numbers of the products involved are 6303.12.00, 6303.19.90, 6303.91.00, 6303.92.00, 6303.99.00, 6304.19.90, 6304.91.90, 6304.92.00. The above safeguard measures are not applicable to the products involved imported from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan.
On September 20, 2019, in response to the application submitted by the Indonesian Textile Association on September 18, 2019, the Indonesian Safeguards Committee issued a ban on imported curtains (including curtains) , blinds, bed curtains and other decorative fabric products have initiated safeguard measures and investigated. The survey period is from 2016 to 2018.
