Türkiye finalizes safeguard measures on imported polyester staple fiber
On August 24, 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Trade issued Announcement No. 2021/6, making a final ruling on safeguard measures against imported polyester staple fiber (Turkish: Poliesterlerden). The products involved are subject to a three-year safeguard tax, which is US$0.060/kg in the first year, US$0.058/kg in the second year, and US$0.056/kg in the third year. The Turkish tax number of the product involved is 5503.20.00.00.00. The measures take effect from the date of promulgation of the relevant presidential decree.
On May 30, 2020, Turkey launched an investigation into safeguard measures against imported polyester staple fiber.
