The influence of water resistance and water repellency on clothing printing fastness
For the sake of the work, the printing may be added, but the printing may cause bad effects because of the unclear reasons. .
It should be noted that many times we confuse water repellency and water resistance. In fact, they are two different concepts. The so-called water repellency means that it does not stick to water. For example, lotus leaves can roll water droplets. If nylon cloth is treated with water-repellent finishing, it will have water-repellent properties like lotus leaves. The so-called water resistance means impermeability. For example, a single-sided rubberized nylon poncho cannot be water-permeable even in heavy downpour. If nylon cloth is treated with both water-blocking and water-repellent finishing, a multifunctional product with water-repellent, water-repellent, wind-blocking and warmth-keeping properties can be obtained.
Generally speaking, if the water-blocking nylon cloth is printed, it is not printed on the rubberized side, but on the unglued side. So, water repellency actually has little or no impact on printing. The water repellency can affect the adhesion of the printing slurry to the fiber surface. Then the greater the water repellency, the greater the impact. Generally, in dyeing and finishing, the commonly used fabric water-repellent finishing agent, organic silicon compound, is also a release agent used to finish release transfer printing paper. It is obvious that the water repellency of printing on nylon or polyester fabric will make printing very difficult.
General nylon printing varieties are different. During dyeing and finishing, some only use three-proof finishing agents, some only use water-blocking agents, some use both water-blocking and oil-blocking agents, and some It has neither water resistance nor three defenses. Therefore, it is necessary to identify before starting printing, and then use different methods to process it. It is also necessary to select the printing paste and process according to the water repellency of the fabric.
For the analysis of fabric water repellency, equipment such as a hydrostatic pressure tester is generally required. Dynamic testing, static testing and custom program testing are used to detect the water repellent performance of fabrics under a certain pressure. .
