How to win with “flowers” in spring and summer fabrics

Printing patterns have always been one of the important chapters in fabric trends in spring and summer. . In 2014, influenced and promoted by various factors such as major fashion weeks and exhibitions at home and abroad, this trend intensified and once again swept the entire textile industry with absolute strength. In this big trend of blooming flowers, the era of making profits by just dabbling in “flowers” and following the trend has become a thing of the past. If companies want to seize the opportunity, they must show off their special skills in order to compete in the competition. occupy a dominant position.

How can we not be eclipsed in this competition? How should you start when faced with the dazzling variety of printing companies? With the mentality of finding out, in this issue we invited three relevant persons in charge of fabric companies to see how they succeeded with “flowers” in the process of designing, developing, producing and selling printed products.

How can design hold the trend?

The difference between printed fabrics and other fabrics is the pattern, so the early pattern design of the product becomes very important. How can the pattern and product texture be perfectly combined and consistent with the pattern? Current trends? In this regard, Zhao Qingsong, general manager of Wujiang Jintong Textile Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu Province, elaborated on the company’s experience in designing and developing printing products from three aspects.

It is intuitive experience. Designers will analyze and judge the fashion trends of printing products for the next season or even the next year based on the company and their own years of experience in the textile industry, and predict the popular colors, styles, fabrics and panels for the next season. type etc. The second is to summarize the rules. Everything is cyclical within a certain period of time. Therefore, as long as you pay attention to observation and are good at summarizing, the fashion trends of printed products can be found in regular patterns. Enterprises can filter out the information that is consistent with the actual situation and product consumer groups from the numerous popular information, and discuss, summarize and summarize it, and finally capture a certain popular trajectory. The third is market research. In order to understand the market more intuitively and quickly and grasp current trends, companies should regularly organize R&D personnel to conduct market research. This kind of survey can generally be divided into two forms, namely questionnaire type and interview type. Before actual research, R&D personnel should first clarify the target consumer groups that are consistent with the brand style positioning, fully understand their education level, scope of activities and other factors, and make plans. Then through face-to-face communication, we can accurately grasp the psychological needs of consumers as well as their wishes, requirements and opinions on future clothing.

How to solve the problems one by one?

When talking about solutions for companies to face problems, Zhao Qingsong repeatedly emphasized the need to “face difficulties”, “not be afraid” and “not avoid”.

With just 10 words, it seems simple, but how can we really do it? Based on his own practical experience, Zhao Qingsong said that the company once designed a ready-made garment. The fabric was white rayon stretch fabric, and the lining was red and black plaid polyester spun printing made by transfer printing. The staff found no abnormalities during a series of processes such as preliminary proofing and garment ironing. However, after the samples were packaged and sent to foreign customers, the customer reported back that he found patches of red marks on the surface of the sample clothes and took pictures. Pass back. In response to this problem, the company attached great importance to it, quickly held a production business coordination meeting, and conducted third-party testing on the washing fastness and friction fastness of the lining.

Finally discovered. Although the performance of transfer printing in terms of washing, friction, fastness, etc. is very good, the transfer fastness is very poor. After the lining is ironed at high temperature, the color will sublimate and be transferred to the fabric. In response to this problem, the company has made three solutions to solve the problem of large quantities of goods. They are to use light-colored linings and use water printing or yarn-dyed weaving to solve the problem.

How to implement products smoothly?

In Zhao Qingsong’s view, no matter how beautiful the flower pattern is, if it does not meet the needs of the market, it will lose its value of existence. In order to make the designed products more down-to-earth and meet the needs of customers, companies currently adopt diversified models. The company provides flower patterns for customers to choose; the customer provides the pattern, and the company makes an S/O for the customer to confirm before production; the customer specifies the design direction, and the company designs patterns that meet the requirements for them to choose, and then produces large quantities after selection.

Zhao Qingsong said that in recent years, companies have closely integrated the needs of the market and customers to design and produce printed products with freehand and abstract patterns. The stability of pulp in emulsified state.

 5. When printing on synthetic fiber fabrics, synthetic fiber and natural fiber blended fabrics, or interwoven fabrics, due to the hydrophobicity of synthetic fibers, the printing paste can easily bleed out of the pattern.

 6. Thin fabrics with a relatively sparse structure have a small pulp absorption capacity and are particularly sensitive to the amount of pulp. A slightly larger amount of pulp will easily cause bleeding.

Question 3: Bottom exposed (dry version)

Definition: The pattern on the fabric does not get enough color paste, the color is light and unclear, and the background color of the fabric is exposed or the fine pattern is broken, which is called exposed bottom.

Cause:

1. Due to the deformation of the plate frame, the plate is lifted up and separated from the fabric spread on the table, causing insufficient sizing of some patterns (or even desizing).

 2. When the scraper runs fast, the pressure is low, the amount of slurry is insufficient, the rubber of the scraper is too hard, the cutting edge is too sharp, etc., it is easy to cause insufficient slurry in the pattern.

3. The pattern, partial mesh holes are blocked or the color paste is too thick, which will reduce the rate of color paste passing through the mesh, and the pattern on the fabric will not be enough.

4. For thick fabrics with thick yarns or sparse structures, due to the uneven surface of the fabric, the concave parts are prone to insufficient starch.

5. If the ink pad is partially depressed or the ink pad is uneven, the pattern on the fabric will be insufficiently sizing.

6. If the fabric is severely wrinkled and is not fully unfolded on the printing table, or the fabric is seriously wrinkled when laying the garment piece, the color paste cannot be obtained inside the wrinkles and on both sides of the raised wrinkles during printing. , while revealing the background color of the fabric.

Question 4: Uneven pattern and color

Definition: Patterns of the same color on fabrics are of inconsistent shades. When the pattern area is large, it appears in irregular scattered flakes, horizontal color blocks and regular longitudinal color blocks. This is called pattern color shades. all.

Cause:

1. During the printing operation, if the speed and pressure of the scraper are inconsistent or the slurry is uneven, the amount of slurry supplied to the pattern will be more or less. The color of the pattern with more slurry will be reduced. Deeper.

 2. When the running scraper jumps or is slightly lifted, the color paste remaining in the pattern on the layout will be transferred to the fabric, causing a darker horizontal color barrier.

 3. The blade of the rubber scraper is unevenly curved, and the pressure and amount of paste applied during scraping are uneven, which will cause the pattern on the fabric to show regular, inconsistent depths of longitudinal color.

4. If the printing table is partially concave or the printing plate is far away from the fabric on the printing table, the pattern will be insufficiently slurry and the color will be light
