The textile and garment industry encounters a talent bottleneck and urgently needs to solve the “labor shortage” problem
For my country’s textile and apparel industry, 2008 is a year on the cusp of the storm and a difficult year. In 2009, the textile and garment industry was also faced with many difficulties and problems. At this time, another problem emerged: labor shortage and talent bottleneck.
Since last year, a large number of textile and garment export companies have turned to the central and western regions, and the central and western regions have big problems in undertaking industrial transfers. The talent issue is one of the key issues. In Xinjiang, the shortage of ordinary technicians and senior technicians is extremely prominent. The quality and skills of the existing labor force cannot adapt to large-scale industrial production. Among the nearly 90,000 textile workers in Xinjiang, only 0.8% are senior workers or above, 3% are intermediate workers, and 6.2% are junior workers. Most workers have no technical grade. The government and enterprises have also become aware of the talent problem and have begun training and introducing talent. Attracting outstanding talents from the eastern region to the west through preferential policies is one of the ways to quickly solve the problem. After all, training talents takes a certain amount of time.
In Hangzhou and Ningbo, Zhejiang, labor problems are also extremely prominent. Yesterday, in the Hangzhou human resources market, there was a special job fair for Hangzhou garment companies. 20 companies offered nearly 3,700 positions. The job offers were very high, but there were only more than 300 applicants. Among some garment companies in Ningbo, many companies have bucked the trend and thrived during the crisis, with abundant orders, but recruiting workers has become a problem facing them.
Affected by the development of the clothing industry, clothing designers have become a talent in short supply. Faced with this phenomenon, the problem of clothing designers needs to be solved in time. In Hangzhou, it plans to spend ten years cultivating a group of high-end design talents and began to implement it last year.
The status of talents in the development of high-end industrial clusters is not just a dependent variable or mainly a supporting role as a dependent variable, but more importantly, a leading role as an independent variable. Therefore, it is imperative to solve the talent problem. AANHJJGHSFW
