Jiangxi’s garment and knitting industry achieved outstanding results in 2008
In 2008, Jiangxi’s textile industry worked hard to overcome the adverse effects of declining international market demand, substantial increases in labor costs and main raw material costs, and tightening financing conditions, and the overall industry operation still achieved steady growth. In particular, the apparel and knitting industries performed outstandingly.
Enterprises above designated size in the clothing industry achieved an industrial value -added of 4.5 billion yuan, an increase of 25%year -on -year from 2007; the total profit and tax was 830 million yuan, an increase of 18.57%year -on -year, of which the profit was 576 million yuan, a year -on -year increase of 22.75% . Enterprises above designated size in the knitting industry achieved industrial added value of 2.595 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 49.79%; total profits and taxes were 545 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.12%, of which profits were 265 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.59%; knitted garment exports were 728 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase 28.59%. The export-oriented Jiangxi knitting industry has become the third sub-industry after the clothing and cotton spinning industries whose annual main business revenue has exceeded 10 billion yuan.
In 2008, enterprises above designated size in Jiangxi’s textile industry achieved an industrial added value (current price) of 12.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22%; and achieved main business income of 45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25%. The production and sales of eight sub-sectors including cotton spinning, knitting, and clothing all achieved simultaneous growth.
Among the 12 major products included in the statistical range, the output of 8 major products such as clothing, gauze, cloth, and non -weaving cloth all achieved year -on -year growth. Enterprises above designated size in the industry completed a yarn output of 445,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 19.28%; cloth 470 million meters, a year-on-year increase of 2.15%; clothing 830 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 14.08%; chemical fiber 168,700 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 39.65%. In 2008, Jiangxi Province’s actual exports of textiles and clothing were US$1.374 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.64%, of which clothing exports were US$1.068 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.47%; textile exports were US$307 million, a year-on-year increase of 12.84%.
Among the 48 key contact enterprises, 25 enterprises including Jiangxi Gongqing Yaya (Group) Co., Ltd. and Jiangxi Huiyuan Clothing Co., Ltd. have achieved growth in profits. Jiangxi Huiyuan Clothing Co., Ltd. and Jiangxi Chunlei Clothing Co., Ltd. The company, Jiangxi Gongqing Shenchang Garment Co., Ltd. and other 12 domestic brand enterprises all increased by more than 30%.
