Wang Tiankai talks about the tracking survey report on Chinese textile enterprise operators

In 2008, my country’s textile industry encountered unprecedented difficulties, and in 2009, the textile industry still faced a severe situation. What is the current operating situation of textile enterprises? How big are the difficulties encountered? What other needs does the company have? Can business operators have the confidence to weather the current difficulties? These have become issues of concern to everyone.

Starting from the beginning of December last year, nearly 600 CEOs of cotton, wool, linen, silk, chemical fiber, printing and dyeing, clothing and other enterprises in the eastern and central and western regions have received a copy of the “China Textile Entrepreneurs Federation” China Textile Enterprise Managers Survey Questionnaire”, someone found that the questions listed on the questionnaire were exactly what they were concerned about, so they filled it out carefully and sent it back to No. 12 East Chang’an Street, Beijing – China Textile Industry Association and A series of subordinate units, including the China Textile Entrepreneurs Federation, work here.

What are the causes and consequences of the birth of this questionnaire? How does it differ from analyzes from statistical agencies? Where will it go in the future? With such “peripheral” questions, the reporter specifically interviewed Wang Tiankai, vice president of the China Textile Industry Association, who personally guided the entire process of the investigation.

Origin: Inadequacy of supplementary statistical information

This survey was proposed by the China Textile Industry Association and jointly organized and implemented by the China Textile Entrepreneurs Federation and the China Textile Industry Statistics Center. It was launched to understand the current situation and trends of textile enterprises in a timely manner, especially the confidence of business operators. of.

Wang Tiankai introduced that an important purpose of this survey is to supplement the statistical analysis data. For various reasons, statistical data always needs to be slightly processed. In this way, the true situation of individual enterprises may be concealed by the “processing”. To make up for this shortcoming, questionnaires came into being.

As an industry service organization, the China National Textile and Apparel Industry Association is very concerned about how companies view the current macro situation, how they react to a series of recently introduced policies, what suggestions they have for the association’s work, etc., all of which have been refined into 48 specific items. in question.

At present, the investigation work has been completed. As of the end of January 2009, more than 100 questionnaires have been collected. The organizational unit selected 113 valid questionnaires for summary, analysis and research, forming a 17-page “China Textile Industry Association Enterprise Operators Tracking Survey Report”.

Features: Obtain real information in a simple way

The questionnaire includes 3 parts: basic information of the enterprise, enterprise production and operation status and development trends, and hot issues, with a total of 48 questions. Wang Tiankai put forward strict requirements for the design of the problem and the launch of the investigation work.

First of all, the questions chosen must be brief, targeted, and “interesting” so that entrepreneurs can resonate when they see the questionnaire. “I am also thinking about these things, and now I will tell you.” Wang Tiankai described how entrepreneurs should feel when they see the questionnaire. In order to achieve this, before the survey was launched, the organizing unit had already begun to collect issues of concern to enterprises when holding various entrepreneur symposiums. During the design of the questionnaire, key issues raised by the China Textile Industry Association based on industry analysis were added.

Secondly, the answer should not take up too much time. This is also an issue that must be paid attention to when doing any questionnaire. Entrepreneurs are already very busy with their complicated daily work. If they are asked to spend another two or three hours filling out a questionnaire, the hope of recovery will be very slim. 40 minutes is the time set by Vice President Wang Tiankai to complete the questionnaire. For this reason, most of the questionnaires are multiple-choice questions, with only two open-ended questions, which do not require too much time to think about.

Again, it must be filled in personally by the corporate legal representative (operator). Only in this way can we ensure that the survey respondents provide the true overall situation of the enterprise. To ensure this, the return questionnaire needs to be signed by the person completing it.

“Pertinence, timeliness, and extensiveness” are Wang Tiankai’s evaluation of the entire investigation work, and the basis for this high evaluation is that the questionnaire obtained real information in a simple way.

Goal: Fixed sample periodic operation

In this survey, companies put forward many policy suggestions. Wang Tiankai said that as a bridge between the government and enterprises, the China National Textile and Apparel Industry Association always pays attention to policy issues, studies them in a timely manner, and reports them to the government. It has been effective on many fronts. Financing, taxation, and labor law enforcement are several issues that entrepreneurs pay high attention to in this survey.

Enterprises also put forward several suggestions for the work of the association: helping enterprises understand national energy conservation and emission reduction regulations and international market access systems, guiding enterprises to apply for technical transformation projects to obtain financial support from relevant departments, and reporting enterprise difficulties to relevant government departments in a timely manner… ⋯Wang Tiankai affirmed that the China Textile and Apparel Industry Association will adopt these suggestions and refine some of the analyzes to make them more operable.

This is the first time that the China Textile Industry Association has launched such an investigation. In addition to providing reference for leaders of relevant government departments and industry associations, the survey results will also be fed back to the companies participating in the survey, so that entrepreneurs who have filled out the questionnaire will know what their peers are doing and paying attention to.

The goal of the organizational unit is to fix it and level it.Twice a year. Under the current special situation, the number of investigations may be appropriately increased for some special issues. In this way, we can understand the needs of different enterprises in the changing situation in a targeted manner, so as to serve enterprises in a more targeted manner.

Compared with the number of questionnaires distributed, the number of questionnaires returned in this survey is not satisfactory. Vice Chairman Wang Tiankai hopes that in future surveys, the number of sample companies can be fixed at around 500, so that the results obtained from the survey will be more universal.

Reporter’s Notes

I often hear some business operators complain that policy makers cannot understand the true thoughts of enterprises, and suggest that industry associations should “reflect and reflect” more. Industry associations do not directly participate in corporate activities. To “reflect and reflect”, you must first “understand and understand”, and questionnaire surveys are one way to understand. When business operators receive the questionnaire, they should take some time to answer it carefully and return it to the person who issued the questionnaire. A sufficient number of samples can reflect the real real-time industry trends. This requires the cooperation of many individuals.

Compared with the nearly 600 questionnaires distributed, the more than 100 questionnaires collected in this survey are not ideal. The organizers hope that in the next survey, they can obtain the cooperation of all survey respondents, obtain a more accurate analysis report from sufficient samples, and feedback the analysis results to the survey subjects.

Speak your own thoughts, and then you can know what others think, and the entire industry will move forward because of this. We hope that the next time our entrepreneur readers receive this questionnaire, they can take a few dozen minutes to fill it out and return it carefully. I believe that your work will be rewarded.
