On February 26, the “Zhejiang Province Industrial Transformation and Upgrading Series Report Meeting – Textile Industry Special Topic” meeting was held in Shaoxing City. The meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Textile Industry Association and the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government. The textile industry is an important people’s livelihood industry and a traditional pillar industry in our country, and it will still be our country’s pillar industry for a long time. The textile industry is closely related to people’s lives. It has unique advantages in social employment and placement of migrant workers, and has made great contributions to society. China has a population of 1.3 billion. If China does not develop the textile industry, it is unrealistic to expect to import from abroad. Therefore, we must unswervingly develop the textile industry. However, in the face of the financial crisis, we urgently need to transform and upgrade to ensure the healthy development of the industry. The purpose of bringing so many academicians of the National Academy of Engineering to this meeting is to help Zhejiang Province complete the transformation and upgrading of the textile industry as soon as possible.
Almost all academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in the domestic textile industry attended the meeting. Five academicians, Ji Guobiao, Yao Mu, Mei Ziqiang, Jiang Shicheng and Zhou Xiang, respectively focused on the sustainable development of the textile industry, key technologies for natural fiber raw material processing, revitalizing the textile industry in response to the financial crisis, how to achieve sustainable development of the chemical fiber industry, ecological dyeing and finishing, and energy conservation. Reports were made on key emission reduction technologies and other aspects, providing suggestions for enterprises and targeting high-end products.
After the State Council promulgated the textile industry revitalization plan, Zhejiang Province, as a major textile industry province, actively implemented it. Before the introduction of the details of the textile industry revitalization plan, Zhejiang Province took the lead in holding such a report meeting nationwide. It was not only an implementation meeting of relevant national favorable policies, but also a mobilization meeting for transformation and upgrading. This report will be the venue for a series of reports on industrial transformation and upgrading in Zhejiang Province. After the meeting, the Zhejiang Provincial Economic and Trade Commission will also organize relevant training to truly allow managers and entrepreneurs in various industries to recognize the situation, catch up, and promote the health and stability of the industry.
