Coating classification
Coating classification:
Surface coating is a coating material used to change the surface properties of the surface material. Coated fabric is a kind of fabric treated with special technology. It can form a uniform layer of covering glue on the surface of the fabric to achieve waterproof, windproof and other functions.
1.PA (polyacrylate)
2.PU (polyurethane)
3.PVC (polyvinyl chloride)
4.PE (polyethylene)
In addition, there are polypropylene (PP), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyamide, polyester, silicone, synthetic rubber, and protein.
The coated fabric uses solvent or water to dissolve the required coating particles (including PU glue, A/C glue, PVC, PE glue) into a saliva-like shape, and then uses a certain method (cylindrical screen, scraper or roller to ) is evenly applied on the fabric (including cotton, polyester, nylon and other base materials), and then fixed by the temperature in the oven to form a uniform layer of covering glue on the surface of the fabric.
1. PA coating:
1. PA coating, also called AC glue coating, that is, acrylic coating, is a common coating at present. After application, it can increase the hand feel, wind resistance and drape.
2. PA white glue coating, that is, coating a layer of white acrylic resin on the surface of the fabric, can increase the covering rate of the fabric, make it impervious to color, and make the color of the fabric more vivid.
3. PA silver glue coating is to apply a layer of silver-white glue on the surface of the fabric to make the fabric have light-shielding and radiation-proof functions. It is generally used in curtains, tents, and clothing.
4. PA coating has the following advantages: good sunlight and weather fastness, not easy to yellow; good transparency and co-compatibility, which is beneficial to the production of colored coating products; good washing resistance; strong adhesion; and low cost. Its disadvantages are: poor elasticity and easy to wrinkle; poor surface finish; difficult to adjust the feel.
2. PU coating:
1. PU coating, that is, polyurethane coating, after coating, the fabric feels plump, elastic, and has a filmy feel on the surface.
2. PU white glue coating is to apply a layer of white polyurethane resin on the surface of the fabric. The function is basically the same as that of PA white glue, but the PU white glue has a fuller feel, more elasticity and better fastness of the fabric.
3. PU silver glue coating, the basic functions are the same as PA silver glue coating. However, PU silver-coated fabrics have better elasticity and better fastness. For tents and other fabrics that require high water pressure, PU silver-coated fabrics are better than PA silver-coated fabrics.
4. PU coating has the following advantages: the coating is soft and elastic; the coating has good strength and can be used for very thin coatings; the coating is porous and has moisture permeability and ventilation properties; it is wear-resistant, moisture-resistant, and dry-cleaning resistant. Its shortcomings are: higher cost; poor weather resistance; hydrolysis when exposed to water, heat, and alkali.
3. PVC coating:
PVC film is toxic and prone to aging. Features: It can be applied thickly and is relatively cheap. It is commonly used with the calendering process and is used for raincoats, bags, etc. PVC feels rough, and there is also calendered PVC, which is a little harder.
4. Polyethylene (PE) is non-toxic, low cost and saves usage
5. Difference:
1. The difference between PAPU coatings is difficult to distinguish from the appearance. Details:
1. Feel: PA feels astringent while PU feels smoother, and PU has better elasticity than PA;
2. Gloss: PA has no gloss, while PU is shiny and brighter;
3.PU has a good film feel and feels like a film to the touch.
In short, PU is brighter, has good elasticity and has a filmy feel, while PA does not have these conditions.
2. The difference between PU and PVC: 1. The former is leather and the latter is glue. 2. From the corners, the base fabric of PU is much thicker than PVC. 3. In terms of hand feel: PU feels softer; PVC feels softer. Harder; 4. It can also be burned with fire. The smell of PU is much lighter than that of PVC.
6. In addition, common special coatings include:
1. UV (anti-ultraviolet) coating, through anti-ultraviolet treatment on the fabric, makes the fabric anti-ultraviolet function, that is, the ability to prevent ultraviolet rays from penetrating. Generally, light colors are more difficult to achieve, while dark colors are easier to achieve.
2. TEFLON (Teflon) three-proof coating, by treating the fabric with DuPont Teflon, the fabric has the functions of waterproof, oil-proof and anti-fouling.
3. Flame-retardant coating, which makes the fabric flame-retardant by padding or coating the fabric. And can be painted in color or silver on the fabric surface. Generally used for curtains, tents, clothing, etc.
7. Other coatings include:
1. Special coatings for cotton, such as: cotton scratch-off coating, paper-feel coating, washed-out coating, hidden-grain coating, oil-feel wax-feel coating, colored film coating, etc.
2. Anti-down coating refers to anti-down coating. After coating, it can prevent down from running away and is suitable for making down jacket fabrics. But now, any PA coating with water pressure requirements is also called anti-velvet coating.
3. Pearlescent coating: By applying pearlescent coating on the surface of the fabric, the surface of the fabric has a pearl-like luster, which can be silvery white or colored. It makes a very beautiful costume. There are also PA pearlescent and PU pearlescent. PU pearlescent is smoother and brighter than PA pearlescent, has a better film feel, and is also known as “pearl film”.
4. Glossy coating, the surface is smooth and shiny after coating, and is generally suitable for tablecloths.
5. Silicone high-elastic coating, also called paper-like coating. Thin cotton fabric is very suitable for shirt fabrics. It has a plump feel, is brittle and elastic, has strong resilience and is wrinkle-resistant. For thick fabrics, it has good elasticity and fastness.
6. Film coating: By calendering and coating the surface of the fabric, a film is formed on the surface of the fabric, completely changing the style of the fabric. Generally, the leather membrane surface is made into the front of the garment, giving it the style of a leather jacket. There are two kinds of matte and glossy.Various colors can be added to the coating to make a colorful film, which is very beautiful.
In addition, PS refers to polystyrene; ABS is a copolymer of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene; PEP is a copolymer of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and propylene oxide (PO). 4ryFnue
