However, solvent-based polyurethane coatings have certain toxicity and flammability, and are not environmentally friendly. In contrast, water-based polyurethane coatings are safe, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, but have poorer adhesion to fabrics and are resistant to water pressure. Performance is also weaker than solvent-based.
