Vietnamese mattress products are subject to US anti-dumping and countervailing investigations
The Trade Defense Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Vietnam announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) has received requests from companies in the country to monitor mattresses from Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam and other countries. Conduct anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on mattresses. The tariff numbers of the products currently involved in anti-dumping and countervailing investigations against Vietnamese mattress products include: 9404.21.0010, 9404.21.0013, 9404.29.1005, 9404.29.1013, 9404.29.9085, 9404.29.9087 and other items (the above numbers is the U.S. tariff number).
The plaintiffs in this case include: Brooklyn Bedding, Corsicana Mattress Company, Elite Comfort Solutions, Fxi, Inc., Innocor, Inc., Kolcraft Enterprises Inc., Leggett & Platt , Incorporated, The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, United Steel, Paper And Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union, Afl-Cio and other companies.
The plaintiff believes that Vietnamese mattress manufacturers do not operate in accordance with market mechanisms, and proposes to investigate Vietnamese product prices and production costs compared with production costs in India.
