Chen Nanliang silently helps Feitian textile people

I first became familiar with Chen Nanliang’s name after the success of Tiangong-1 in 2011 After taking off, Chen Nanliang was hailed as the person who gave “Tiangong 1” light wings. In order to make “Tiangong-1” fly “lightly” and “perfectly”, Chen Nanliang and his team independently developed a new type of glass fiber to successfully “slim down” the “Tiangong-1” battery sail panel after more than five years of research. This not only makes an indelible contribution to China’s aerospace field, but is also a major breakthrough in the application development of my country’s textile field.

Since then, at the 2012 Hong Kong Sangma Awards Ceremony, reporters were fortunate enough to have a glimpse of the first prize winner. In the same year, he won the “Light of Textile” Teacher Special Award, which is well deserved.

Since July 1984, when he stayed at the school to engage in teaching and scientific research, Chen Nanliang has successively undertaken the undergraduate and postgraduate projects of “Knitting Science”, “Knitting Product Design”, “Knitting Technology and Equipment”, “Textile and Civilization”, “Modern Textile Technology” and other courses. With his serious, responsible, rigorous and down-to-earth work attitude, Chen Nanliang’s teaching effect has been recognized by peers and students. Among them, “Knitting” as a main member was awarded an excellent teaching course.

At present, Chen Nanliang has trained 4 doctors and more than 50 masters. In terms of scientific research, as one of the academic leaders in the textile engineering discipline, he is mainly engaged in the development and research of industrial textiles and textile structural composite materials. He has outstanding achievements and in-depth research foundation in special weaving technology.

“Since 2004, I have undertaken the ‘Glass fiber grid substrate material for spacecraft’ project. This project broke through the preparation technology of special flexible high-strength glass fiber yarn and pioneered the knitting performance of glass fiber yarn. Characterization, testing methods and innovative design and production of special testing devices; overcoming the technical problems of high-strength glass fiber yarn warping and high-density weaving; solving the problem of performance simulation of glass fiber mesh fabrics. Its products have been successfully used as key technical materials ‘Tiangong No. 1’.” Chen Nanliang introduced.

In addition, Chen Nanliang, director of the Engineering Research Center for Industrial Textiles of the Ministry of Education of Donghua University, also systematically studied the basic application theory and production process of flexible composite materials, and successfully developed a variety of new reinforcement materials. Undertaken a number of fabric-reinforced flexible composite material projects, and researched many key breakthroughs in materials used in major needs such as various membrane structural materials, canopy reinforcement materials, swimming pool fabrics, airbags, airship capsule reinforcement materials, extravehicular space suits, etc. technology. He has made great contributions to the theoretical research and production practice of my country’s fabric-reinforced flexible composite products and the advancement of industrial textiles to high-end, high-added value, cutting-edge, and independent innovation.

At present, he presides over and is responsible for supporting the planned projects “Anti-Aging Functional Canopy Materials”, “Flame-Retardant Functional Canopy Materials”, “Glass Fiber PTFE Membrane Structural Materials”; the final assembly project “Stratospheric “Airship capsule material” development; the 8th Aerospace Academy’s “Mars rover landing capsule material” project, etc.

Not only that, in the field of research on metal mesh materials projects for large-scale satellite-borne deployable antennas that are in great demand, Chen Nanliang has been in charge of the project since 2008, and has made breakthroughs in the plying and twisting of ultra-fine metal wires. technology, overcame technical difficulties in metal wire warping, warp knitting and other processes, innovatively designed and manufactured special doubling, warping and warp knitting equipment, laying a solid theory and foundation for the independent development of metal mesh antenna materials for large spaceborne antennas. Practical basis. Currently, the project team is making final sprint for industrialization, standardized production and optimization of production process technology. According to reports, the project products will be launched in 2015, which has significant economic and social significance.

Chen Nanliang’s professionalism has to be admired. He also has in-depth research in the field of biomedical textiles, and has successively developed “degradable sutures”, “human body patch materials”, Products such as “Human Nerve Regeneration Catheter”, “Artificial Ligament”, and “Artificial Blood Vessel” have all reached the international advanced level in technology, and some project results are expected to enter clinical application in recent years.
